Welcome to Suffolk Country Retreats

Hello!

Firstly, thank you for visiting our website and taking the time to read our blog posts! We thought you might like to know who is behind the scenes here at Suffolk Country Retreats and a bit about how we came to run the holiday cottages.

Myself, Chris and my husband, David are the owners of Suffolk Country Retreats, two beautiful holiday cottages located in Suffolk (approx. 3 miles from the Norfolk border). We have lived in Fressingfield for many years and love village life, so why not share our love of the countryside and picturesque garden views with others.

Over the last 2 years, David has been building the holiday cottages from the round up with help of family and friends (but mainly by himself!) and we couldn't be prouder of the work he has accomplished! Whilst I have been working at our village GP surgery, alongside painting, designing and planning the interiors of each cottage to give it the luxury feel we wanted. 

Now, if you are wondering why our cottages are cow themed, they are part of the converted dairy courtyard, which was an old dairy farm back before we purchased the property in the early 2000's, you can even see the old brickwork within Udder Cottage's bedroom (ariel view images of how the property used to look, located in each cottage to show the history of the property).

We love taking our dogs Molly and Mumbles on our holiday adventures, which is why we have made our cottages dog friendly (2 dogs per cottage) as they deserve a break too. 

With Udder Cottage already taking bookings, we look forward to opening Milk Churn Cottage in October 2024!
