Local Area

Our local town of Harleston (4 miles) has wonderful cosy tearooms, traditional bakers, butchers and delicatessens serving delicious Norfolk foods, you’re sure to find plenty on the menu when visiting this traditional market town.

Framlingham (11 miles) is a small market town, with a magnificent twelfth century castle belonging to the Earls and Dukes of Norfolk through the centuries, the castle itself is surrounded by parkland and estates and is famously known within the song 'castle on the hill' released in 2017 by multi-award winning singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran (local resident). Framlingham is the perfect town for a stroll, shop and glimpse of history. Market Hill is the Town’s centre and still hosts markets on Saturday and Tuesday offering great local produce together with trinkets and collectibles. There are excellent shops too, for gifts, food, fashions and antiques and mouth-watering selection of cafés, tea shops, pubs and restaurants.

Southwold (20 miles) is a charming north Suffolk seaside town, and is a wonderful destination at any time of the year, it is also incredibly dog friendly. It's wonderful attractions such as the working lighthouse, beach huts, model yacht pond, award-winning pier, busy harbour and of course the beaches are topped off with delicious cafes, restaurants, bars, fashion, bakery's and more.

Beccles is a small market town, on the Norfolk/Suffolk border - on the Norfolk broads, with lots of independent shops, deli and restaurants. Make the most of the sun and hire a boat on the broads from Beccles (dog friendly). Dayboat hire in Beccles — Hippersons Boatyard
